The summer of 2008 saw the release of "Bangkok Dangerous", a remake of the 1999 Thai film of the same title by the Pang brothers and which had as the lead star in its recent version popular American actor Nicolas Cage.

Obviously, the action flick is based on fiction and ideally should not lead to a misconception nor in any way detract from the beauty of the movie's main setting - the city of Bangkok, Thailand. Flights to Bangkok are coursed via its 2 main airports - Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang airports.

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is the nation's principal city and largest metropolitan area, with a population exceeding 8 million. Some of the tourist attractions in Bangkok include the Grand Palace (the King's official residence), Wat Pho (which houses the Temple of the Reclining Buddha), temples such as Wat Arun and Wat Suthat, museums, parks, and new developments that further strengthen the status of Bangkok as a global city. And of course, the Bangkok shopping experience is always full of bargains and surprises.

Indeed, it cannot be overemphasized that Bangkok Dangerous is the movie but Bangkok Beautiful is the real thing! So beautiful in fact, Bangkok, and by extension other places in Thailand, can be an enticing and wonderful place for living, retirement, or just plain visiting.
